Biography
Widely recognized as one of the nation's leading dermatologists, Dr. Stuart H. Kaplan has made the science of cultivating beautiful skin his life's work.
Dr. Kaplan is a renowned dermatologist with a thriving, established private practice in Beverly Hills, California. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA Medical Center and the Wadsworth VA Medical Center, where he is an attending physician in dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Kaplan has treated tens of thousands of patients over the years, from those who win Oscars, Grammys and Emmys to those who need a helping hand, including foster care children and the indigent. Dr. Kaplan's philosophy is simple: help patients feel better about the way they look — and live — by advancing the technology and science of medical skincare treatments.
Dr. Kaplan's accomplishments have earned much recognition, including awards from the U.S. Congress, American Cancer Society, American Medical Association, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Youth Opportunities United, Los Angeles Department of Foster and Adoption Agencies, and Children of the Night, among others. Yet his approach to medical skin care has remained firmly grounded in patient care. He continues to devote the majority of his time to treating and caring for patients on a personal, one-on-one basis.
Through this direct experience, he has spent nearly 20 years learning exactly what skincare products his patients need. Recognizing significant gaps in the existing skincare market, Dr. Kaplan was inspired to create and launch his own product line, kaplanMD Beverly Hills.
Following years of exacting scientific research and test studies, kaplanMD-Beverly Hills will launch in May 2006 with the debut of kaplanMD | for transitioning skin, a revolutionary skincare line that promises to change the way millions of perimenopausal and menopausal women care for transitioning skin. The kaplanMD skincare line will be available in upscale department stores and retail outlets.
Dr. Kaplan's dermatological expertise has been consistently sought after in the media as well. Nationally, he has been interviewed on MSNBC, the Fox News Channel, Univision, Entertainment Tonight, Extra and Inside Edition. Dr. Kaplan has also been featured in The Los Angeles Times, Glamour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Mirabella, Marie Claire, Fitness, Weight Watchers, In Touch, Cargo and Elle magazines, and has served as a medical consultant for numerous television series.
A Cum Laude graduate of New York University, Dr. Kaplan earned his medical degree, with honors, from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of California Los Angeles Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident of the Division of Dermatology during his final year.
