What does “pH - Balanced Skin” mean?

April 08, 2016 1 min read

pH stands for potential of hydrogen which describes whether something's acidic, neutral or basic. Our skin’s pH-level is 5.5 which means it is slightly acidic. Maintaining the correct pH-Balance is essential to minimize problems such as eczema, dry skin and other skin problems. Keeping skin in good pH-Balance means knowing how acidic or alkaline products are and choosing them on how close they are to your skin’s pH-Level. Because most cleansers are slightly more alkaline – we recommend using an alcohol-free toner to balance pH after cleansing.
