How to properly hydrate your skin during Winter

Hi Beauties,

It is officially Winter and our skin can feel it. Dry heat inside and cold air outside can become really stressful to your skin. You might start noticing dry and flaky skin. So what can you do to hydrate your skin during the colder months? We have the answer!

Exfoliate

Did your skin lose the summer glow? Don’t worry you will get it back by exfoliating your skin 2 - 3 times a week. We recommend using a Microfoliant that contains natural fruit enzymes like pineapple and papaya enzymes to gently exfoliate away dry skin.

Milk Cleanser

Cleansing your face every day is an essential step in our beauty routine. During the colder month, we recommend the Hydrating Milk Cleanser. This cleanser hydrates and nourishes your skin while washing away dirt and makeup residue. Unlike many other cream cleansers, the Hydrating Milk Cleanser rinses off completely, without leaving any oil residue on your skin.

Lip Mask + Lip Balm

Everyone experiences dry and chapped lips during the colder months. Your lips get chapped because the skin on your lips is much thinner and therefore more sensitive. Since the layer of skin is so thin it does not offer much protection against cold air, wind and sunlight.

We recommend the Perfect Pout. The duo consists out of a LIP 20 Mask and a LIP 20 Balm The LIP 20 Mask instantly transforms chapped, dry lips into softer and smoother lips. The star ingredient in the LIP 20 Mask is papaya enzymes. Papaya enzymes help your lips to gently exfoliate away dry skin without harming or irritating the delicate skin on your lips.

The golden rule in skincare is to apply a hydrating Lip Balm after exfoliating to seal in moisture. We recommend to follow up with the LIP 20 Balm which also contains SPF 20.

Hydrating Essence

The key to luminous skin during winter are essential oils. Essential oils have amazing healing and moisturizing properties that soothe, hydrate and repair the skin. You can easily mix a few drops of the Hydrating Essence with your daily moisturizer to maximize hydration.

KAPLAN MD’s Special Tip: Mix a few drops of the Hydrating Essence into your foundation for a smooth application, hydrated skin, and an amazing glow.
