Top 3 Procedures before Award Shows

But have you ever wondered how celebrities are prepping their skin prior to an award shows like the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards? Besides using a consistent skin care regimen, working out regularly and eating healthy there are three common procedures celebrities are using. We have got the inside scoop from Dr. Kaplan, and have rounded up the most popular pre-red carpet celebrity treatments! (Interestingly, both men and women opt for the same treatments!)

1) Botox

Botox is one of the most common procedures before awards shows. Botox is used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the underlying muscles. Underarm botox is another common trick used by stars to prevent sweating into their gowns. The result of a Botox treatment is fully visible after 1 to 2 weeks.

2) Sculptra Aesthetic

Sculptra Aesthetic is a type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. It helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging by replacing lost collagen.

Sculptra is used to improve the appearance of nose-to-lip wrinkles, horizontal chin wrinkles and so-called marionette lines that frame lips. Celebrities also use it for volumizing (re-plumping) the cheeks and hollows at the temples. The true and lasting results of the Sculptra treatment takes weeks or months to become evident.

3) Kybella injections 

Kybella injections are a common treatment prior to award shows. This injection requires more planning since it needs to be injected in 3 monthly intervals for a total of 2 to 4 sessions. Kybella is a non-surgical injectable for eliminating the fat around the jowls for a more chiseled, sculpted jawline. The injection contains a naturally occurring molecule which dissolves fat. When injected properly, all other cells are left healthy and intact.
